In order for Clean Air Counts success to be measured and to help the
state meet the federal ozone standard, annual calendar year reporting
and quantification is necessary. CAC Adopters are asked to complete a
reporting form for each strategy they implement. The reporting forms
are designed to be simple and easy to use.
Illinois EPA will use the information
from the reporting forms to calculate the reduction in VOC and NOx
emissions
resulting in actions
taken by CAC adopters. The quantification of the emissions reductions
will help the state plan its air quality activities. It will also allow
the state to credit the Campaigns’ activities in the ozone State
Implementation Plan. Therefore, the reporting aspect of the campaign
is pivotal in helping the state demonstrate the various ways the region
will attain the Clean Air Act standards for ozone.
The Clean Air Act requires state to provide
documentation for emission reduction activities up to three years
after implementation of the
strategy. Thus, we request that you keep records, receipts, and invoices
for three years. If you need assistance completing the reporting form,
please contact CAC.
